Welcome to National Heat

Precision Industrial Heat Treatment Services

We’ve mastered the science of structural integrity

In heavy industry, what you cannot see under a microscope can shut down your entire site. Untreated residual stresses in metal components often lead to "silent" structural vulnerabilities, such as microscopic cracking, brittleness, or catastrophic weld fractures.

These failures aren't just repair jobs – they represent significant operational standstills, safety liabilities, and financial hemorrhaging for your business.

By choosing National Heat, you are investing in a financial shield. Precise thermal processing today prevents million-dollar failures tomorrow, protecting your reputation by fulfilling mandatory industry compliance codes.

We utilise industry-accepted technical procedures to ensure your infrastructure meets the exact mechanical specifications required for the harshest environments on earth.

Comprehensive heat treatment services

Australia & the Pacific

National Heat operates as a frictionless extension of your team, using our expertise and specialised equipment to deliver reliable thermal solutions precisely when and where you need them.

Whether your project is in the industrial zones of Brisbane, the remote Pilbara, or across the Pacific in PNG, we can help you mitigate operational risk, meet strict compliance standards, and ensure your critical assets perform flawlessly under pressure.

Our precision thermochemical processing diffuses carbon into the surface layer of low-carbon steels. This creates a rock-hard, wear-resistant exterior shell while maintaining a tough, shock-absorbent interior core – the exact mechanical balance required for heavy-duty gears, pins, and shafts.

A rigorous multi-stage thermal process designed to engineer optimal mechanical properties. Rapid cooling (quenching) creates a highly hardened steel structure, which is immediately followed by controlled reheating (tempering) to restore ductility and eliminate extreme brittleness.

Post-Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) reduces the severe residual stresses locked into metals during welding. By executing precise, uniform thermal cycles, we eliminate the silent vulnerabilities that cause stress-corrosion cracking and catastrophic structural failures.

We apply precise heating and slow, controlled cooling cycles to soften structural metals, refine heavily worked grain structures, and relieve internal stresses. This fundamental process improves machinability, enhances ductility, and ensures dimensional stability prior to final machining.

Specialised thermal age-hardening for martensitic and PH-grade stainless steels. By forcing the precipitation of micro-constituents within the metal matrix, we deliver an exceptional combination of high tensile strength, fracture toughness, and superior corrosion resistance to meet strict industrial tolerances.

By heating engineering steels above their critical temperature and cooling them in still air, we refine non-uniform grain structures caused by forging, rolling, or welding. This homogenises the steel, providing uniform mechanical properties and superior structural predictability.

We mobilise specialised mobile fleets directly to your facility or remote site to manage thermal gradients in situ. This critical process prevents hydrogen cracking and thermal shock during live welding operations, safeguarding structural integrity without causing project bottlenecks.

We deploy highly controlled thermal cycles to safely drive out trapped moisture from newly installed or repaired industrial furnace linings. Eliminating this moisture prevents explosive steam spalling and structural fragmentation, dramatically extending the operational lifespan of your refractory assets.

The benchmark thermal treatment for structural aluminium alloys. By tightly controlling solution heat treatment, rapid quenching, and artificial aging, we push the alloy to its maximum yield strength and hardness tolerances, fully compliant with structural aviation, defense, and marine codes.

Designed primarily for stainless steel and advanced alloys, this process heats the material to a high temperature to dissolve secondary phases (like chromium carbides) back into a solid solution, followed by rapid cooling. This completely restores maximum corrosion resistance and eliminates work hardening.
